During my time as Director of the Haileybury Pipes and Drums, in 2022 at the Australian Championships in Sydney, our Grade 4A / Novice A teams were ready to debut their new competition sets. 

The weather was warm and humid, with overcast conditions; that was until the band walked to the line and played. A big black rain cloud would form above us and pour down torrential rain, only to stop as we played our last note. This happened not once, not twice, but four times over the weekend. Ironically, the performances that we got rained on were our best runs on the weekend. All hail the rain gods.
